Bloodred is writing new music!

It´s time to move on and so I´m in the middle of writing NEW MUSIC for the NEXT RELEASE! I´m making good progress so far as some of the songs are already finished while others still need to be worked on. After the release of the EP “The Lost Ones” in 2014, this time I´m planning to do a FULL ALBUM which will be released later this year. Expect some typical BLOODRED stuff! That´s it for now, I´ll keep you posted!

Stay metal \m/

Looking back on 2014

Now that the end of the year is coming closer it´s time to look back on what has been the most exciting year in BLOODRED´s history so far.

It all started with the recordings sessions for “THE LOST ONES” at the MASTERSOUND STUDIO with Alex Krull producing and Joris Nijenhuis on the drums. It was such a great experience and I´m still very pleased with the outcome. The EP was released digitally in advance in June and the actual release of the digipack was at the end of August. It is still available as a download on iTunes, Bandcamp, Amazon and many more platforms. You can get the beautiful digipack at this location.

The EP got overwhelmingly great reviews, you can find some of them here and here. Just to quote a few:

Metalheads Union: “BLOODRED managed a crystal clear production on their first creation, well feed by sophisticated compositions, a gem of the genre with just the first EP!” (8,5/10)

Rotting Hill (Austria): “BLOODRED bietet dem Freund des Blackened Death Metals zwei ausgereifte, durchdachte und gut produzierte Songs.” (8/10)

Inside The Coffin“The fierce music, best compared to a band like EMPEROR, just screams for a full length release. I can only hope that this EP is nothing more than a small taste of the great things to come!”

I also met or got in touch with so many nice people this year: Alex, Joris and Thorsten at MASTERSOUND, Markus at METALMESSAGE, many great publishers or contributors to Metal magazines, websites etc. all over the world and of course the fans. Thank you all for great talks and inspiration!

But 2014 was just the harbinger of things to come … expect the full BLOODRED blast next year!

Until then: take care and stay metal! \m/

Legacy print interview“Es gibt klirrende Gitarren, bissige und gleichzeitig frostig-schöne Melodien und aggressive Vocals. […] Und das bringt dann zwei gute Songs. Und das ist viel mehr, als andere auf einer ganzen CD schaffen.”

Theres also an interview in the magazine with a continuation online (read it here).

NoCleanSinging: “This is close to ten minutes of highly enjoyable metal that gives hope for future releases.

Interview with Blackened Horde

I recently did an interview with Blackened Horde about the band and the new EP “The Lost Ones”. This is an excerpt, read the full interview here:

Summon: How did the band get started?

Ron: Bloodred is a one-man-project so it’s hard to tell when it all started. I had played in bands for several years but over the time it became clear, that my musical direction was changing to a more extreme sound and the other band members at the time didn’t want to follow. So I started writing music just for me and I think it was 2009 when I first recorded a song under the name of Bloodred.

Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Ron: The first song is the “The Lost Ones” and this one is a more mid tempo song with a certain Thrash feel to it, although it starts with a really fast part. I think this song is a good introduction into the music of Bloodred since it has speed, melody and groove. The lyrics are based on a poem by Samuel Bamford. The second song is called “Spirits Of The Dead”. The lyrics are from a poem by E.A. Poe and this song shows the Black Metal side of Bloodred. It was fascinating to watch Joris playing all this ultra fast stuff in the studio. It’s unbelievable how hard he hits the snare drum even at high speed.

The Lost Ones” was released on June 20th 2014 and is available at Bandcamp, iTunes and many more music services.

The EP was produced by Alexander Krull at his Mastersound Entertainment Studio. All drums are played by Joris Nijenhuis (Atrocity, Leaves´ Eyes).
